It is not a secret for anybody that we are fully immersed, today more than ever, into the globalization boom. One of the greatest challenges in this evolution is to learn different languages and styles of living that may permit us to enrich our culture and understand other human beings.

The mission of our Cultural Center is to transmit to our students the general features of the rich Costa Rican culture, which is very similar to the culture of the other Latin American countries. Culture includes popular Spanish language, as well as dancing, cooking, special celebrations and the family routines we carry out in our country.

It is not easy to immerse ourselves into this rich world of culture, if we do not take our first steps in the learning of the Spanish language. For this purpose, we have academic texts adapted to the needs of the students with the involvement of competent, experienced and enthusiastic professors.

It has been clearly demonstrated that the easiest and most fluid way to learn a language is participating in the daily life of a community. For this reason, we are very careful in the selection of the host families in our community, in order for the students to feel as comfortable as possible. However, we also expect that the trust expressed by a family, when opening its doors to a student, be fully respected.

Likewise, we believe that learning a language should take place in a warm, pleasant and fun environment. This is the motive for which our lessons may take place inside a classroom, as well as outdoors, or at different picturesque sites of the community and its surroundings of Atenas.

About us...

WHO ARE WE?

Our primary mission is to teach Spanish while being immersed in the Costa Rican culture, sharing with local people: its music, dancing, distinct foods, history, etc, you will experience a cultural exchange program, bringing you to live with a carefully chosen host family in our culture, while implementing a simple but effective teaching method for learning a new language.

Spanish & Fun offers one of the best opportunities to learn a second language surrounded by the most exotic vegetation of the region. Students will wake up each day in an exotic green environment, breathing fresh air, listening to the birds, and experiencing a very tranquil space in general. Free tropical drinks, juices, and of course the always exquisite Costa Rican coffee will be available for you to enjoy while learning.

You will also make new Costa Rican and foreign friends while learning and interacting with our cultural classes: Latin and typical dances, regional cooking, short trips around the area and community programs, and more!
