LANGUAGE LEVELS
Students will be placed in one of the following levels depending on their Spanish skills. The levels include engaging activities and exercises in writing, reading, speaking, pronunciation, and composition.
Beginner I and II: The beginner student has very little or no knowledge of Spanish, perhaps a few words in some isolated situations. The beginner student will receive introductory Spanish instruction and be able to communicate basic needs, in places such as: banks, airports, restaurants, asking for directions, etc. Additionally, the student will learn important grammar and conjugations of verbs that will enable them to communicate successfully and advance into a higher Spanish instruction level.
Intermediate I and II: The intermediate student has mastered a beginner’s knowledge on how to communicate basic needs. We will continue to expand the student’s vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure using more complex elements of sentences and grammar. Meaningful and relevant activities like sharing short compositions of different topics, such as: nature, tropics, culture, travel, etc., will help students practice the vocabulary and accelerate their Spanish language acquisition.
Advanced I and II: The advanced student has a very good working knowledge of the Spanish language and can use it with confidence in all but the most challenging situations. This is a course that will deepen the student’s knowledge of grammatical structure and sentence structure complexity. Discussion and written compositions will be about more in depth topics that will help fine tune the advanced student’s mastery of conversation and comprehension.
