MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle school is a unique transitional time into full adolescence.  Students in these ages of 10-14 are ready to explore their environment more intensely and develop more meaningful interpersonal relationships in the community. 

Taking this age group on our cultural immersion program aligns with new 21st century educational goals that are aimed at incorporating cultural competency and environmental responsibility to prepare young people for meaningful careers and to fully participate in the emerging global society.  We aim to awaken a curiosity about another language and culture and motivate one to become a lifelong learner of the Spanish language.

I.  Language and Culture Immersion   is our most flexible program.  It can be any length of time from one week to many months to live and explore Costa Rican culture and learn the Spanish language.            

II.  Culture Immersion Program provides a unique experience to develop important skills of learning about cultural differences and gaining an appreciationfor the Latin culture.  

III.  Science Immersion Program focuses on important environmental issues like the climate, water quality, agricultural development, endangered species, reforestation, etc.

IV.  Business Immersion Program goes in-depth towards global understanding of economics and interpersonal skills for multi-ethnic workplaces.

V.  Adventure Trek provides action packed cultural immersion experiences throughout different areas of Costa Rica

Groups of 10-15, 100% of all expenses for one person will be covered, excluding airfare and exit tax

Groups of 15-19, 100% of all expenses for one person and 50% of another will be covered, excluding airfare and exit tax

Groups of 20+, 100% of all expenses for two people will be covered, excluding airfare and exit tax

  BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
As part of the community, Spanish andFun expects students to be respectful and well-mannered visitors.  Our Center will not tolerate the use of illegal drugs for any reason.  Under no circumstances will irresponsible behavior in the community be accepted.  Spanish and Fun reserves the right to terminate the program for any student who is not complying with our policies.  Under such case we will not be responsible for any refund and the student would be on his/her own in the country for the rest of his/her stay.  Contact us for further information about our policies and procedures.  Our standard policy and procedures will be sent upon registration.
