MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle school is a unique transitional time into full adolescence.  Students in these ages of 10-14 are ready to explore their environment more intensely and develop more meaningful interpersonal relationships in the community. 

Taking this age group on our cultural immersion program aligns with new 21st century educational goals that are aimed at incorporating cultural competency and environmental responsibility to prepare young people for meaningful careers and to fully participate in the emerging global society.  We aim to awaken a curiosity about another language and culture and motivate one to become a lifelong learner of the Spanish language.

II.  10 Day Immersion Program provides a unique 10 day experience to develop important skills of learning about cultural differences and communicating in the Spanish language.  There is a choice of three specific overnight excursions with this program to:

• A turtle preservation reserve on the Caribbean coast, itinerary
• An investigation of the rainforest in Monteverde, itinerary
• An exploration of the National Park and beach of Playa Manuel Antonio on the Pacific coast, itinerary

III.  10 Day Science Immersion Program is a special 10 day investigation that focuses on important environmental issues like the climate, water quality, agricultural development, endangered species, reforestation, etc.  There is a choice of three specific overnight excursions with this program to:

• A turtle preservation reserve on the Caribbean coast, itinerary
• An investigation of the rainforest in Monteverde, itinerary
• An exploration of the National Park and beach of Playa Manuel Antonio on the Pacific coast, itinerary

Groups of 6 or more, we will pay 50% of all expenses for one person, excluding airfare.
Groups of 9 or more, we will pay 100% of all expenses for one peron, excluding airfare

BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
As part of the community, Spanish English & Fun expects students to be respectful and well-mannered visitors.  Our Center will not tolerate the use of illegal drugs for any reason.  Under no circumstances will irresponsible behavior in the community be accepted.  Spanish English & Fun reserves the right to terminate the program for any student who is not complying with our policies.  Under such case we will not be responsible for any refund and the student would be on his/her own in the country for the rest of his/her stay.  Contact us for further information about our policies and procedures.  Our standard policy and procedures will be sent upon registration.
