TWO WEEK TEENAGE PROGRAM 2008-2009

Package II

Price: $1,180 (discount package for one teacher/leader with groups of eight students)
Program starts the first and third Monday of each month

Breakfast, lunch or bag lunch, and dinner are provided by homestay family unless noted.

Monday	Students arrival and pick up at the San Jose airport by Spanish&Fun staff in minivan Drive to Atenas and meet host family
Tuesday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff picks up students from homestay 9:00am to 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 2:00pm - visit town of Atenas and its 7 barrios (neighbourhoods)
Wednesday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff picks up students from homestay (pack bag lunch) 9:00 – 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 2:00pm - Community Service Project at local orphanage in Atenas 6:00 to 9:00pm - Spanish&Fun host dinner with students and homestay.
Thursday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff picks up students from homestay 9:00am to 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 2:00pm - Dancing classes at the Center
Friday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff picks up students from homestay 9:00am – 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 2:00pm – Spanish & English immersion language class with local teens from Atenas who are taking English as a Second Language classes at the Center
Saturday	6:00am Saturday - leave for trip to Tortuga Island in Puntarenas.  We will join in local beach cleaning efforts, take the ferry called Calypso, hear live music, snorkel and enjoy the beach.  2:00 Sunday- travel back to Atenas
Sunday	9:00 am – Visit the rainforest and ride in gondola through the canopy.
Monday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff picks up students from homestay 9:00am – 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 2:00pm – Community Service Project cooking at a local homeless shelter
Tuesday	8:30am – Day trip to the capital of San Jose. Visit the historic National Theatre, the National Museum of Costa Rican nature and art, and the Gold Museum.  Lunch in Parque La Sabana San José (student purchase meal)
Wednesday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff picks up students from homestay 9:00am – 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center
Thursday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff picks up students from homestay 9:00am – 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 1:30pm – Community Service Project at local farm: sugarcane, coffee plantation, and fruit.
Friday	8:30am – Spanish&Fun staff pick up students from homestay 9:00am – 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 2:00pm - Community Service Project at local elder/senior center or local cystic fibrosis children
Saturday	8:30 am – Spanish&Fun staff pick up students from homestay 9:00am – 12:00noon – Spanish classes at the Center 1:30pm – Visit “Paseo de las Flores” in the nearby town of Heredia to see artisans and for shopping Dinner and dancing at an age appropriate restaurant (student purchase meal)
Sunday	7:30am - Trip to the unique Poas Volcano (largest crater of the world) and to a butterfly farm. 9:00am - Visit artisan towns of Sarchi and Zarcero.  Sarchi is famous for having many local Costa Rican furniture craftsmen.  Zarcero is famous for art carvings out of local pine wood. Typical lunch (student purchase meal) and souvenir shopping 6:00pm-9pm - Farewell pot luck/covered dish dinner at the Center with homestay families and presentation of program completion certificates.
