LIVING WITH A HOST FAMILY
                                                                    
Daily interaction with a typical Costa Rican “tico” family will be instrumental in helping immerse you in the language and culture of Costa Rica.  Our host families have been very carefully chosen, taking into great consideration high moral values, warmth, cleanliness and safety.  

We will arrange for you to stay with a local family in the beautiful town of Atenas, which will be close to both campuses, Central-Town and Eco-Green.  A staff member from Spanish & Fun will be in touch with you and the host family as much as needed to make sure that everyone is comfortable with the arrangement.

Your Home Stay family will provide:

• A private room either as an individual or in pairs
• Couples can be arranged with the same family
• Two meals a day: breakfast plus lunch or dinner
• Laundry service
• Authentic Costa Rican cuisine using fresh, local ingredients
• Wireless internet service is available at the Center.  It’s a good idea to bring your laptop.
• Bed linens (bring your personal towel or you can purchase in Atenas)

Accommodation with a host family can be arranged for non-students at very reasonable rates.

            
STAYING AT OUR LODGE

Spanish English & Fun has a very safe and comfortable lodge that is a 2 minute walk to the Central-Town Campus in Atenas.  The lodge can accommodate individuals or groups up to 12 people.  There are rooms with single, bunk, and full size beds.  There is a central kitchen, dining, and living area.  We have an experienced cook who will prepare your designated meals.  There are a sufficient number of bathrooms and a durable washing machine to do laundry. You can enjoy the front porch or back patio and look out to the surrounding mountains as well as observe and interact with many townspeople as they pass by.

We outline certain week and monthly time periods in our program packages; however, we are very flexible to meet your scheduling needs and can accommodate any set length of time you require from one week to many months.  Please contact us for further discussion about your intended length of stay.
